Multi-User and iPad Version

Several users have asked for multi-user support an an iPad specific version, so that will be the next version. The iPad version will be universal, meaning you will not have to buy the app again if you already have it.

One question, for multi-user support, would you require a password to access your information? Send email or comment below to let me know.

Some nice changes this time around:

1. Searching is improved to perform keyword based search, so ‘baked ham’ and ‘ham baked’ return the same results. I also plan on taking words like ‘cooked’ and translating them to the USDA abbreviations, which in the case is ckd. It should also help improve searching.

2. Grouped Items! Yes you can now use group items together to make a group. So you can create a new group called ‘Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich’ and add in all the components.

3. Track by meal time instead of by time. A new option will allow you to track by Meal type, e.g., ‘Breakfast’, as opposed to entering the time in all the time.

Should be submitted to the Apple this weekend for approval.

App icon budget badge gone?!?

If you have updated to iOS 5.0, then the remaining budget for the day will no longer appear on the app icon unless you go into the iPhone notification center under the iphone settings app and make sure that TrackIt has notifications enabled.

I’m trying to figure how to have the app do it but so far no luck.

Version 1.8.4

An astute user noticed that after he upgraded to iOS 5.0, his weekly bonus was negative. After investigating I found the very simple problem and have a fix. basically anything over 255 turns into a negative number. Annoying!

Also you can now use the swipe left or right to move between screens which include your list of food/exercise entries, including the home screen. No more trying to hit those pesky little arrow buttons!

I’ve updated the graphing software as well, and am testing that out today and tomorrow, and when happy, will upload the new version tomorrow.

One point, every time I upload a new version, I lose my place in search results which are based on ratings now. If you really like the app, just give it some stars so other users can find it too!

(No I didn’t do the food grouping yet as fixing the bug took precedence).

Weight Loss Plateaus revisted

The Huffington Post ran this article on weight loss plateaus. The point it makes is that your body may not be ‘adjusted’ to your new weight, but rather you may be slipping back into old habits. Good read.
